what ignites my soul

lifes too short to not know what this is for you. for me:

• learning, then teaching/sharing and striking deep connections with others on the same journey
• developing creative solutions to problems
• conversations with open minds
• discovering views i hold that are defective

then embrace the people, places and things that ignite something deep in ur soul (credit: Lex Fridman)

a note on what i mean by learning

most people read/listen passively. then their understanding is very superficial. i fall into this trap as well out of habit. but i now push myself to be diligent (credit: Marcus Aurelius, Book One, Paragraph 7). to actually learn and ask questions.

• people often think they have bad memory, when really they just didn't do anything at all for the brain to memorize
• solution:
  • acknowledge that im not just trying to get through a book or podcast. i stop and allow myself to dig. go down that rabbit hole. REMIND yourself that the goal is the digging! Not what you get as a result. Let that result come when it’s ready.
